The Oldham Chronicle is the latest business to join the Latics’ Advisory Panel. They handed over a cheque for £25,000 to help support the club in their hour of need. They are the eighth indiviual to help the coffers with just two more needed to raise the targeted £250,000 towards survival. A buy-out is currently still on the table and the Supporters Trust is going strong which is all contributing to keep the historic club afloat.

The Chronicle’s company secretary Bernard Stone said, “For Oldham not have a Football League club would be a devastating blow for the town. We have connections with Athletic which go way back in time and our paths crossed commercially last season when we agreed a sponsorship deal via the Chronicle Suite. We were about to discuss a sponsorship package for the coming season when the financial problems at Boundary Park came to light and matters were put on hold. We liked the idea of the advisory panel, which gives us an opportunity to show our commitment to Latics and the people of Oldham in general. We were delighted to join other like-minded panel members attempting to help in this way.”
