Chopra deal denied

News that Athletic were to put in a bid for Newcastle United’s Michael Chopra has been released but although Dowie admits to having watched the superkid, he denies reports of a loan move as wide of the mark. 


Dowie said, “I have watched Michael several times and he is an excellent player. There has been no formal approach and I cannot see one for the foreseeable future given the financial situation here.”
