Danny Cadamarteri, the former Everton and Bradford City striker, will join Athletic on trial later this week. Cadamarteri has recently served a six month ban for failing a drugs test and is aiming to rebuild his career. The 27 year old recently trained with Barnsley and was set to be offered a deal which was scuppered after manager Andy Ritchie was sacked. Cadamarteri was an England under 21 international who made 93 appearances for Everton in the Premiership. He also played at Leeds, Sheffield United and Bradford.
