Jack Byrne, who's contract was terminated, says former that his move to Kilmarnock was encouraged by Killie's player Gordon Greer.
His signing at the twelvth hour of the transfer window put paid to his career at Boundary Park.
Byrne began his career at Manchester City before he moved to Cambuur in the Eredivisie, Blackburn Rovers and then Wigan Athletic from where he joined the Latics.
