Young Middlesbrough player Jonathan Burn has signed a six-month loan deal at Boundary Park to bolster the defence. Burn is 20 years of age, is a central defender, and is captain of Boro’s under-21 side.
Manager Darren Kelly was disappointed with conceding three goals at Carlisle and said, “The errors provide a concern but it is up to us to put it right on the training ground. We have to get out of those habits. I haven’t decided yet to be honest, there is a lot of food for thought plus the fact that we have players to come back in, in a fully-fit squad. It is a good headache to have trying to pick a team. At Carlisle we were a bit flat and off it. But this is when we try to rectify things to get it right ready for the big kick-off.”
Burn may come straight into the team at Walsall to partner James Wilson in an attempt to improve the centre of defence which has been seriously lacking.
