Latics’ boss Frankie Bunn came away from Swindon Town satisfied with the point his team earned in the 0-0 draw. He was, however, not satisfied with the late challenge on Missilou from Taylor which lost the Latics a chance to take all three points.
Bunn commented, “It's what you call a professional foul, but the manner in which it was done beggars belief. It was a great goalscoring opportunity even though it was on the halfway line because we had numbers in support of Christopher [Missilou], so I’m disappointed, but would we have done the same, probably, so it is what it is. They've [officials] missed a penalty in the first half from our wide freekick, the lads blatantly handballed it, so we've had a look at that on the video and it looks a penalty. I’m happy with the result because this is a tough place to come, obviously we're greedy and we always want more, and we can always get better. However, they’re positives to take, it's a clean sheet away from home and a point which you never know, it could become useful as the season goes on.”
“I think the character was tremendous again today, they’ve dug in at times, we’ve defended our box really well and on the back of conceding three last goals it was a spirited defensive performance. It was good to see Cameron [Dummigan] back and we’re getting people back fit now, so there's lots of competition for places. Ishmael [Miller] also got a good 65 minutes again today so he's coming on nicely, so we'll see how he recovers for Tuesday. We're in on Sunday, we'll do some work while the group recovers, and we'll start preparing again for the game. The games come thick and fast over the next 10 days or so playing Saturday, Tuesday, but it’s great to be a footballer with those games coming up, it’s what you look forward to.”
