Paul Dickov will be working with a reduced budget next season although he doesn't believe the cuts will necessarily have an adverse effect on the team. He explained, “Everybody knows the budget is being cut, but it doesn't mean we cannot have a really good go. It doesn't mean that things aren't going on behind the scenes as to bringing in players. We have already spoken to some. Having the budget cut doesn't necessarily mean we can bring in good players, but my mandate will have to change.”
“I want players who are prepared to run through brick walls for this football club, but there are also talented players who can do that. I want to improve every area because we have not been good enough all over the pitch. Defensively we have leaked goals while going forward we have created chances and not scored goals. We are looking at every position to bring in better players than we have this year. There are a lot of clubs like ourselves which are having to cut their budgets so if players think they can move elsewhere they may be in for a shock.”
