Goalkeeper Dean Bouzanis has signed a new one-year contract with the Latics. The 21-year-old had previously spent four and a half years at Liverpool.
A delighted Paul Dickov said, “When Dean came in it was on non-contract terms and he was not paid initially. He worked hard and was rewarded with a deal to the end of the season. Dean had to wait patiently for his chance but, when it came, he seized it.”
“Dean came in and did well as we knew he would as he is a talented boy and a naturally gifted keeper whose attitude is fantastic. We have two really good young keepers in Dean and Alex Cisak. They will push each other and both have a lot of years ahead of them. We believe with the help of goalkeeping coach Paul Gerrard, who will play an important part in their progression, both have the chance to be top keepers. The more Dean works with Paul the better he will become as has happened with Alex.”
