Manager Paul Dickov is still not too despondent even though he had to watch his side fall to their third defeat of the season on Saturday at Brentford. The manager put the defeat down to hard luck again and suggested that his side deserved at least a point but the result can't hide the fact that the Latics have only won two matches from the last 18 games.
Dickov confessed, “At the start of the season people were asking me what my brief is. It is to stay in the division but I don’t want just that. I want to push us high up the table. Little things at the moment aren’t quite going for us. I said to the boys to keep positive. With the players we have, we will pick up points if they do the right things.”
“I thought we did well and put a lot of pressure on their back four. We had a few chances and put a lot of balls into their box. It is disappointing but the lads were happy with the performance and the results will come, I am sure.”
