Blitz explains to fans

Latics new Chairman Simon Blitz's notes in the Rotherham programme made interesting reading. Blitz said, "I am writing these notes as your new Chairman. I have decided to "step up" into the role as I feel that after 3 years, I should have more involvement in the affairs of Latics. That is not to say that Barry Chaytow did not do a good job, it is just that this is something that I have wanted to do for a while and the time is right. In fact I would like to thank Barry for all his efforts and we wish him well in whatever he does."
"There have been many rumours regarding the club recently and I understand that a lot of fans would like to know what is happening. Let me tell you - Nothing. We are not looking to sell the club or leave but we maintain our position, which has always been the same, f the right people or persons wanted to take over OAFC and Boundary Park, we would listen. However the conditions that we would attach would make it almost prohibitive for anyone and the only winner would be the club. So no need to worry. We will keep you informed."
