He enjoyed it here at the end of the season and there’s no way we’ve given up yet. We’d be pushing the boat out financially, but the owners are doing everything they can to bring Luke Beckett to this club. And they have assured myself and Ronnie that the same funds will be available if this particular move doesn’t come off. They realise the need for a quality striker, so we’ve already been speaking to a few other lads who, hopefully, would be of the same calibre as Luke. Everybody wants a goalscorer. That’s why they never come cheap but I’m confident we’ll get there in the end.”
