Swindon Town continued Oldham's home misery by going back to Wiltshire from Boundary Park with all three points after a 2-0 win. The crown were grumbling yet again and manager Stephen Robinson had to agree that it was a bad bay at the office.
Robinson admitted, “It was really disappointing today and there is no hiding away from it. That’s the poorest we have been and I don’t think it’s often that you see nine players that don’t come to the game. We lacked intensity, we lacked desire which is something that’s not been associated with us in any of the games. Only two players that can come out with any credit is Connor Ripley who I thought was excellent and Peter Clarke. Everyone else needs a long hard look in the mirror and I share a big portion of the blame.”
“I put players in and gave them a chance again due to a really good performance at Coventry last week but there are people chomping at the bit now to get in and now is the time to make changes I feel. I completely understand the frustrations of the crowd today, and I’m with them as well, but the good news is that we won’t play that bad again. Connor Ripley has been superb the whole time he’s been here. There are a few people in the dressing room that need to buy Connor a drink or shake his hand because it could have been four or five and one of his saves was world class. He is one of the few that came out with credit.”
