Manager Dave Penney has finalised his backroom team and will be bringing in number two Martin Gray and goalkeeping coach Andy Collett, both of whom worked with him at Darlington. The pair have been sacked by the Darlington administrator so there is no compensation to be paid. One or two minor points in their contracts have still to be ironed out but it is expected that an official announcement will be made soon.
Gray is 37 and played for six years at Sunderland, making 54 appearances. Collett is 35 and played for Middlesbrough, Bristol Rovers and Darlington before injury cut short the career.
