Athletic's scholars marked

The Latics coaching staff have had the tough task of deciding which of the club's scholars would be retained for the 3rd year. Coach Tony Philliskirk, said "It was a tough decision".


Ultimately, 4 out of the group of 6 players have been retained, these being: Striker - Scott Vernon; Central Defender/Midfielder - Danny Hall; Left
Defender/Midfielder - Adam Griffin; Defender - Michael Davenport.


The two players who have not been kept on are: Attacking Midfielder/Striker - Paul O'Grady; Defender - Karl Lavery. Both players are set to play in the
Football League exit trials over the 7/8/9th of April at Alsager and it is hoped that they will be offered scholarships at American Colleges.
