Matty Appleby's last visit to see his specialist has turned out favourably as his hip and thigh problems do not need surgery as was first expected. Matty missed most of last season but he has now been put on a rehabilitation programme. If everything goes to plan the midfielder should be fit for pre-season training which will be a big boost for the team. Dean Holden is on a similar rehabilitation stint at Lilleshall and should also be fit when the team return for the build up to the new season.
