Athletic have issued a statement regarding the backroom staff for next season. The statement was issued on the official website and read:
“Oldham Athletic are delighted to announce some exciting additions to its backroom staff. Peter Shirtliff, who did such a tremendous job last season for Latics, is once again joining our coaching staff, a move that ensures the continuation of the fine form displayed in the successful fight against relegation at the end of last season.
Alongside him we are fortunate to have secured the services of Lee Turnbull, former chief scout at Scunthorpe United and Sheffield United, who has a wealth of experience both in the domestic game and abroad. Lee's record in identifying and bringing through players over the years speaks for itself.
Finally, we would also like to welcome Sean O'Driscoll to the coaching team. Like Lee, Sean’s experience in the Football League is comparable with anyone and his coaching and attention to detail will be invaluable to the club.
Sean has also been helping the Chairman and board interview potential managers and will continue to do so until we are fully satisfied we have found the right man.
I'm sure you will join us in wishing all three gentlemen the best of luck and give them a warm welcome to the club.”
